Are you the one who wished to have your passport but doesn’t know the exact procedure of issuing it? With over passed time, the procedure of getting a passport has become much quicker and almost seamless. All you need to know is the correct procedure and documents to get it. After all, a passport is the biggest proof of your Indian Citizenship. If you have never applied for a passport before, this article is for you. We will tell you from procedure to documents, everything you should have for issuing the passport.
Documents Required –Age Proof (any one): 10th Marksheet, TC, Annexure-A (Above 50 yrs) and Birth Certificate if DOB is after 26/01/1989, Address Proof (any two): E-bills, Voter’s ID, Adhara Card, Bank Statement with update PassBook, Gas Connection.
Click on Register Now at the left-hand side. You will be directed to a User Registration Form. Fill this User Registration Form as described below and Click on register –
Fill this form correctly with the same information written in your documents. After fulfilling this form, you will have to book an appointment at your Passport Seva Kendra(PSK) or Regional Passport Office (RPO), you need to select your ARN Number in Applicant Home Page. Just below your details click on the link to Book an Appointment. You will get the availability of dates and respective PSK and/or RPO.You may finalize the date of appointment according to your convenience.
After filling the application form, it will generate your ARN Number. You can now check your Submitted Application with ARN Number at Applicant Home Page.
A fee of Rs.1500 will be charged for Booking the Appointment. Three chances are given to the person for Booking an Appointment with the payment of Rs.1500. Payment can be done through Credit/Debit Cards, By Bank Deposit or By Bank Draft. In the process to apply for passport online and Booking appointment, this is a must process.
Note: Remember, you need to carry all your Original documents and 2 set of Self Attested Photostat copies of each document. Also, carry the print out of appointment application.Reach out to the passport office on the appointment date, after the successful interview, you will be handed over a Final Acknowledgement Receipt, which you must keep safely.
If you failed to produce any of the documents, you can again go back and appointment again.
Police Verification –After 2-3 weeks of your Appointment Date, you will be notified about Police Verification Request for your Passport Application File at the Police Station/Thana specified by you while filling up the Application Form.
If you did not receive any intimation, you can track the status of your Passport Application by entering your File Number and Date of Birth.
You will go through Police Verification at the nearest local police station specified in your application. At the time of Police Verification, you again will have to carry the same documents, you carried for booking appointment. Also, you will need 2 witnessed confirming your address.
After the successful police verification, You will receive a message on your registered mobile number and email id that your passport application has been processed and after that within a week, you will receive your passport at your address.
